Gymnastics at Encore is level-based starting at 5 years. Our color levels are in rainbow order to start, then in medal order for our most advanced gymnasts: first Red through Purple, then Bronze, Silver, and Gold. We start with the basics in terminology, shaping, and safe fall techniques; then we build on that foundation. We focus on fun, safety, and clean technique as primary goals. Our classes are co-ed through our Orange level, with the students learning the basics on all equipment, then split to allow for developing gender-specific skills when they advance to Yellow and above. Whenever possible we group gymnasts within each color level according to age: 5 - 7 years (this age group may use equipment in the Little and Big gym areas), 7 - 10 years, and 10 - 12 years. Our teen classes are 13 - 17 years.
