Business Director/Coach
Virginia started taking
gymnastics when she was 9 years old, and competed up to level 6. Virginia
joined Encore in 1986 where she was on Encore’s
competitive team. In 1990 she began coaching gymnastics at Encore.
She is currently the Business Director of Encore Inc.,
as well as coach for any and all levels. She took a break from coaching
to get her Bachelors degree from Hayward State University, and joined corporate
America for a couple of years. On the weekends, “to keep her sanity”,
she would still come in and teach birthday parties. “I realized that
you have to love your career, since that’s what you are going to spend
the majority of your life doing; and what I love most are children and gymnastics.
I really appreciate Encore’s philosophy on working
with children. We focus on building kids’ self-esteem and having fun,
while developing healthy lifestyles. The kids that come to this gym don’t
just leave here with the ability to do a cartwheel, but also a love for
the sport, and a proud feeling inside.” |
