Caroline
Thrift
Recreation Program Director/Coach
Caroline started gymnastics when she was three. She was enrolled off and
on until she was twelve. Caroline has always loved gymnastics because she
loves to hang and climb. She started coaching at Encore
in 1996 and has been in and out of this gym ever since. She attended college
at DVC then onto San Diego State where she was on the Crew team and finally
finished her education at the University of Hawaii where she got her bachelor’s
Degree in Psychology. She then moved to Florida to work at Walt Disney World
for two years. Through all of her travels she has always had a part time
job at a gym coaching, she just can’t stay away from gymnastics, “it’s
a release, it is fun in an organized way…it’s a great workout.”
She has worked in gymnasiums in Hawaii, Florida and California and as a
result has gained a lot of experience in different environments. From coaching
competitive to recreational gymnastics to tiny tumblers and summer camps
she has a broad background and cannot pick a favorite. She is now back at
Encore and loves it more than ever. “I realized that
this is what I really want to do, and Encore is where I
want to do it.” |
